Clay Aiken: A Thousand Diffrent Ways

Clay Aiken (born Clayton Holmes Grissom on November 30, 1978) is an American pop singer who began his rise to fame on the second season of the television program American Idol in 2003.

After placing second, RCA Records offered him a recording contract, and his multi-platinum debut album Measure of a Man was released in October 2003.

Subsequently, he has released three more albums: Merry Christmas with Love, A Thousand Different Ways, and the Christmas EP, All is Well.

Based on his album sales, which are surpassed only by winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, Aiken has become the most successful male and the most successful second-place finisher in that show's history!!!!

Clay Aiken's long awaited followup to the first studio album Measure of a Man was at last released on September 19, 2006 with RCA Records. That first album has been certified triple platinum and the 2004 Christmas album Merry Christmas With Love has sold over one million copies. The new album A Thousand Different Ways includes mostly cover versions of classic love songs along with 4 new songs.

Track Listing (NOT IN ORDER)

* Right Here Waiting
* When I See You Smile
* Without You
* Lonely No More
* Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word
* Everytime You Go Away
* Everything I Do
* I Want to Know What Love Is
* These Open Arms
* Because You Loved Me
* Here You Come Again
* Everything I Have
* A Thousand Days
* Broken Wings

While collections of covers can be a risky proposition, and, in overall pop history, they don't have a good record of sales or critical acclaim, the covers album The Greatest Songs of the Fifties brought Barry Manilow back to the top of the charts earlier this year and Rod Stewart has turned covers into a franchise. Perhaps this is just what Clay Aiken needs to focus attention on his tremendous vocal instrument. With the legendary Clive Davis at his side, I wouldn't bet against him.

Jackson: BET didnt tell me to Beat It!

Michael Jackson has blasted claims he was too busy to appear at the Black Entertainment Television awards, branding the allegations "false and defamatory."

The singer was asked to appear at the B.E.T. ceremony in Los Angeles on June 26 to perform a special "Thriller" album tribute and to present his mentor Diana Ross with a Lifetime Achievement Award -- but news agencies claimed Jackson was "too incapacitated to appear."
Jackson's spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain says the information "being disseminated in the media with regards to Mr. Jackson's invitation is false. We cannot understand why anyone affiliated with the program would deliberately misrepresent the facts or attempt to defame Mr. Jackson.

"Mr. Jackson spoke personally to B.E.T. CEO Debra Lee regarding his invitation to attend the ceremony. Mr. Jackson respects B.E.T. and was one of the first recording artists to demand that his record company cooperate with, at the time, a newly established network."

Janet Jackson Plumps Up!

Singer Janet Jackson, sister of the famous Michael Jackson, spent Independence Day in Miami. She was there with her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, who seems to be making her quite happy.

The photographs of the couple reveal that they spent Independence Day enjoying themselves, but that is not the only insight they provide. These days, prettyish Janet is struggling with excess kilos. it is hard to say how and when this happened because, other than singing, Janet also used to dance, and she has never looked quite as filled out as she does now.

Are Losers really the winners?

First Clay Aiken, now Daughtry. He might have been fourth in the eyes of 2006 American Idol voters, but Chris Daughtry is the top dog in album sales.

The bald rocker's self-titled debut is the top-selling album of the first half of 2007, according to new data from Nielsen SoundScan, having sold 1.7 million albums so far. Daughtry is the fastest-selling rock debut in the 16-year history of the Billboard album chart's sales-tracking system and the fifth best-selling digital release of all time. (Michael Jackson is First)

Daughtry bested the year's other contenders, with Norah Jones' Not Too Late, Akon's Konvicted, and Linkin Park's Minutes to Midnight ranking behind him.

Carrie Underwood, who won American Idol in 2004, nabbed the top-selling country album and the fifth best-selling album overall with 1.1 million copies of Some Hearts sold.
The period's total sales figures continued their downward slide, with a total of 229.8 million albums sold in the US between January 1 and July 1, a 15 percent year-over-year drop. But digital track sales continued to rise, jumping 49 percent to 417.3 million songs sold digitally so far this year.

Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape" was tops among digital singles, selling 1.8 million so far. The next-closest seller is "Cupid's Chokehold" by Gym Class Heroes followed by Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder" and Fall Out Boy's "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race."

Britney Spears says sorry for being a crazy bitch!

LOS ANGELES: Pop princess BRITNEY SPEARS yesterday apologised for attacking a photographer's car with an umbrella earlier this year, saying the outburst was part of her preparation for a movie role.

Spears claimed the attack on a paparazzo' car in February, which took place after a visit to her estranged husband KEVIN FEDERLINE's house, occurred as she attempted to get into character for an unsuccessful audition.

"I apologise to the pap for a stunt that was done four months ago regarding an umbrella," Spears, 25, wrote in a message on her website.
"I was preparing my character for a role in a movie where the husband never plays his part so they switch places accidentally.

"I take all my roles very seriously and got a little carried away. Unfortunately I didn't get the part." Spears attack came during a period where she was rarely out of the tabloid headlines, shaving her head, getting two new tattoos and partying hard in Los Angeles.

Does R&B Star "USHER" need to confess something?

Usher confirmed his engagement earlier and his fiancée Tameka Foster has been photographed recently with a diamond ring on her finger and Usher said he could be walking down the aisle before the end of the year. They also have officially announced that they are expecting their first child this fall. So where is Tameka in photos snapped by Splash Online?
Usher Stepping Out With Mystery Woman?
The photo agency has the R&B star Usher was spotted leaving Hollywood hot spot ‘Area’ with an unidentified woman last night. The woman who was not his pregnant fiancé Tameka Foster held his hand as they left the club, a report on the website notes.
***
Usher and the mystery woman were reportedly seen getting their groove on inside the club, but as Usher walked out club security tried to hide his face. So - the question is did Splash Exclusively catch Usher being a naughty boy, or was it quite simply something and nothing.

Rosie O'Donnell auditioned for Price is Right

It wasn't all talk about Rosie O'Donnell replacing Bob Barker on The Price is Right. TMZ reports today that Rosie O'Donnell actually came on down and auditioned for the legendary game show and it wasn't simply a matter of meetings and discussions. Rosie O'Donnell gave a twenty-minute standup routine in Los Angeles on Saturday, as a part of the Human Rights Coalition's True Colors tour and revealed that she auditioned for The Price is Right. Rosie O'Donnel joked (or was it?) that she didn't get the job because the outspoken host, who got her hand slapped a few times for political views on The View, said in her audition, "Don't forget to spay and neuter your Republicans."

Rosie O'Donnell is currently touring the country with the True Colors tour, created by Cyndi Lauper to raise awareness of issues and discrimination faced by gays and lesbians. Besides the twenty-minute set by Rosie O'Donnell, the True Colors tour featured Cyndi Lauper, Erasure, Debbie Harry, and others.

It might have all been a stand-up routine, as a source at CBS tells TMZ that, according to their knowledge, Rosie O'Donnell never auditioned for The Price is Right and didn't film any test shows, which is what The View host claimed. If anyone has any footage of Rosie O'Donnell introducing Plinko, send it our way.

So, what happens to Rosie O'Donnell now? Since leaving The View after a much-publicized fight with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck in May, Rosie O'Donnell hasn't exactly left the spotlight at all. She posts on her blog regularly and remains almost as outspoken as if she was still on TV, leading many to believe that she'll strike while the iron is hot and have a new show before you can say "The price is wrong." We'll keep you updated on the latest Rosie O'Donnell happenings and let you know if anything else is revealed as the True Colors tour moves across the country.
Other participants in the tour include Margaret Cho, The Cliks, and The Dresden Dolls. After the recent show in San Jose, critic Jim Harrington wrote in The Mercury News, "In all, it turned out to be a very fun night for fans. But it was also an evening in which the message was heard even more clearly than the music."

TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT, WHAT YOU REALLY REALLY WANT!

It's true, it's damn true. And I don't care, but Posh, Baby, Scary, Ginger, and Sporty are getting back together for a tour after 7 years apart. Scary just had a baby by the way which she claims is Eddie Murphy's.

Tour Dates

Las Vegas - December 8

KELLY CLARKSON IS NO IDOL ANYMORE

NEW YORK — Just two days after parting ways with her manager, Kelly Clarkson has canceled her upcoming summer tour over disappointing ticket sales, yet another sign of turmoil as she prepares to release her third album, "My December."

In a statement on her Web site, Clarkson said: "In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won't be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon.

"But I promise you that we're going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better," she added.

In a statement released by her new representative, Paul Freundlich, it acknowledged the sales for the arena tour have been slow. The tour will be on hold and the size of it will be re-evaluated, the statement said.

"The day when she will play in sold-out arenas is, no doubt, coming, but for now her fans should look forward to seeing her in a more intimate concert environment," Gregg Perloff, CEO of concert promoter Another Planet Entertainment, said in the statement. "Kelly deserves a tremendous amount of praise for her courage in not only being a part of, but in supporting, this difficult decision."

This is the latest problem to beset the Grammy-winning singer amid the release of her third album, due out on June 26, the follow-up to her multiplatinum disc "Breakway." The 2004 album was a critical success that showed her success went beyond being a former "American Idol." Clarkson helped write some of the songs on that disc, including the hit ballad "Because of You."

But this spring, reports surfaced that record mogul Clive Davis, who oversees the RCA label for which Clarkson records, was dissatisfied with the direction of the new record and had clashed with Clarkson over it.

In an interview with Associated Press Television in May, Clarkson said media reports of a feud between the two were exaggerated but admitted there was tension.

"There's always this battle, and it's not a bad battle to have," she explained. "I mean, you obviously don't want `yes' people around you. And, obviously, (Davis) and others at the label have been in the business far longer than I have. So you obviously take their opinions in."

In the end, though, "I always go with my gut," she said. "My gut has obviously done pretty well for me thus far, so I don't see why I shouldn't keep listening to it."

But the first single from "My December," the angry rock song "Never Again," was not a huge hit, and while it peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard chart, it quickly fell from the top 10 and is now at No. 17.

This week, she fired her manager, Jeff Kwatinetz of The Firm management group.
Clarkson's tour was expected to kick off with her performance at the Live Earth concert July 7 at East Rutherford, N.J. and end in Phoenix. Now, Clarkson's only performance is slated to be at the Live Earth concert, part of a global series of performances to raise awareness about environmental issues.

Refunds will be given for those who purchased tickets to Clarkson's tour.

Hilton: "I Won't Appeal"

LOS ANGELES - One day Paris Hilton is screaming for her mommy as she is cuffed and taken to the pokey in a reckless driving case. The next, she’s the model of magnanimity, saying she wouldn’t appeal her 45-day sentence and that she is “learning and growing” from her time behind bars.

An insincere buffing of an image scuffed like a pair last season’s Jimmy Choos? Maybe. Effective? Probably, say veteran Hollywood image-makers.

“Based on the way the story has been playing out, this is a good move for her,” said Michael Levine, who has served as publicist for dozens of celebrities, including Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand and Bill O’Reilly. “Experience has taught me that celebrities respect wisdom but obey pain. What I mean by that is that when they feel the heat they see the light.”

If Levine were working with the celebutante, he would recommend she show she has learned from the experience by fading from the party scene for awhile and getting behind sympathetic causes like Angelina Jolie, who traded her bad girl credentials to become a mother and a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.

“When you’re in a hole, it’s generally a good idea to stop digging ... from doing the same idiotic stuff that got you in trouble in the first place,” Levine said.

Hilton’s publicist, Elliott Mintz, did not immediately return e-mail or phone messages.
Hilton was at a maximum-security detention center Sunday, where an AP photographer saw her sister Nicky Hilton and ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos go in on one of two days during the week that inmates are allowed visitors.

She has been at the downtown facility since Friday, when Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ordered her back to jail. Sheriff Lee Baca had released her to house arrest the day before for undisclosed health reasons. Hilton was taken from Sauer’s courtroom in tears and calling for her mother.

Hilton’s lawyers had sought to have her released on grounds that the 26-year-old was suffering an unspecified medical condition. But Sauer suggested that could be taken care of at jail medical facilities.

Hilton was expected to serve only 23 days because of a state law that requires shorter sentences for good behavior.

“Being in jail is by far the hardest thing I have ever done,” she said in a statement Saturday. “During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to think and I believe that I am learning and growing from this experience.”

She also said she was “shocked” by the attention her case has received and suggested the public and media focus on “more important things like the men and women serving our country in Iraq.”

Media image consultant Michael Sands said Hilton’s only hope at selling her new found humility is a genuine change of behavior.

“Showing is doing,” he said. “If Paris is really concerned about the media paying attention to the men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, then why didn’t she sign autographs at military bases and hospitals?”

Hilton’s path to jail began Sept. 7, when she failed a sobriety test after police saw her weaving down a street in her Mercedes-Benz on what she said was a late-night run to a hamburger stand. She pleaded no contest to reckless driving and was sentenced to 36 months’ probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Michael Jackson Fans on the Attack

The King Of Pop, Michael Jackson's fans lash out against the media:

Here is what the KOP's fan club, "Tired Of Injustice" has to say:

"The time has come to UNITE and take a STAND to fight for objectiveness and respect from the Media and Entertainment corporations.

We recognise that Michael Jackson is the person most frequesntly portrayed unfairly by the media in general and yet he has given the most in the entertainment business.

It's now time to promote justice and truth. It is time to promote respect and help the media regain respect.

No more prejudices, no more lies! "

Is Michael Jackson a victim of the media or are his fans blinded by his celeberity?

I think Michael is a victim of most media (not myself) but dont take my word for it... Check out http://www.tiredofinjustice.org.uk/

PARIS HILTON DRAGGED BACK TO JAIL

It seems as though Paris Hilton will not be spending her jail sentence in the lap of luxury, as Judge Michael T. Sauer has ordered Paris Hilton off of house arrest and back to jail. With the news that the judge had sent her back to jail, Paris Hilton was taken from the courtroom, screaming at the top of her lungs. Hilton shrieked, "Mom, Mom, Mom," as she was removed from the courtroom to be returned to the Los Angeles County jail in Lynwood.

One witness at the court hearing told TMZ that Paris Hilton had to be "physically dragged" out of the courtroom by a female deputy. Hilton was sobbing and screaming as Judge Michael T. Sauer ordered Paris Hilton returned to jail where she will now have to serve her entire 45-day sentence handed down for a parole violation in a reckless driving case. "It's not right! exclaimed Paris Hilton, according to ABC News. Through her screams and sobs and cries for her mother, Paris Hilton was removed from the courtroom and is now being returned to jail.

Paris Hilton has been a wreck all day, as a Sheriff's Department cruiser came to her home in West Hollywood, placed Hilton in handcuffs and threw her in back of the car. Paris Hilton was photographed by dozens of paparazzi, as she cried in the back of the Sheriff's vehicle.

Paris Hilton was then delivered to the courthouse, where the judge began to hear arguments from both defense attorneys and the City Attorney, as well as the Sheriff's Department that "reassigned Paris Hilton to house arrest for her jail sentence, rather than keeping her behind bars for her punishment. The sentence was initially to be 45 days in jail, though it was believed Hilton would only have to serve 23 days, as the sentence would be cut in half for good behaviour credits.

Today's court proceedings were essentially a fact-finding mission for the judge and the City Attorney to understand why Paris Hilton was released form jail and placed on house arrest. According to ABC News, Judge Sauer had noted in a court document that Paris Hilton was not allowed to substitute a lesser punishment for the jail time she had been sentenced to. "No work furlough. No work release. No electronic monitoring," was the note from Judge Sauer. The Sheriff's Department claimed they had filed a motion with Sauer to place Paris Hilton under house arrest, though according to TMZ, the judge said he didn't receive such a motion, stating, "There's no way I would have approved it even if I got the motion."

Regarding the medical reason for Paris Hilton to be placed on house arrest and allowed to leave the Lynwood jail facility, Judge Sauer was quoted by TMZ as saying, "I don't know why the defendant couldn't be treated at Lynwood, because they have a great medical facility." In one last irregularity from the Sheriff's Department, Judge Sauer noted that he had been unaware Paris Hilton had planned to appear in court by phone today, until he heard TMZ founder Harvey Levin on the radio today. Sauer said he unaware that Paris Hilton would appear in court via telephone until he heard it on the radio, and that Paris Hilton had to be in court for the hearing.
Paris Hilton will be taken directly to the Lynwood jail from the courthouse. She will be given credit for at least the five days already served. Kathy Hilton, the mother of Paris Hilton, told TMZ that, "I'm paralyzed right now."

Paris Hilton Cowers Behind Sheriff, Nicole Richie Ready To Face It!

Paris Hilton Cowers, Nicole Richie Ready - Paris Hilton, who is currently in court awaiting her jail sentence fate, is a coward compared to socialite Nicole Richie.

Nicole Richie recently told David Letterman in New York that she was ready to face the consequences for her DUI charge, even if it is a possible jail sentence.

"I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, of course," she said on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" Wednesday. "I'm scared also but I'm willing to face whatever consequences come my way and I take responsibility for what I've done."

PARIS HILTON BACK IN COURT

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Paris Hilton was ordered to appear in court Friday instead of calling in from home, yet another reversal in her twisted path toward serving time on a probation violation.

The decision by Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was announced by court spokesman Allan Parachini shortly before the start of a hearing that could put the 26-year-old hotel heiress behind bars again for violating probation in a reckless driving case.
"Judge Sauer has instructed the Sheriff's Department to go to Ms. Hilton's residence, pick her up and bring her here. That is happening now," Parachini told reporters outside the courthouse.
Hilton appeared to be in handcuffs when she was placed into a black-and-white patrol car, which sped away from her home with lights flashing as news helicopters pursued, broadcasting live TV coverage.

The car carrying her disappeared into the courthouse's underground parking lot, avoiding a swarm of news media, and her parents then arrived.

Hilton's release for an undisclosed medical condition, and the decision to allow her to serve the time at her Hollywood Hills home, angered some - including local and state authorities and civil rights leaders - who argued it could interpreted as affording the socialite favours not available to other, less famous, inmates.

Early Friday, Parachini announced that Hilton would be allowed to take part in the hearing by telephone. He said he understood that was her attorney's desire and it was not unusual for phones to be used in misdemeanour cases.

Outside the courthouse, people on other business stopped to gawk at news cameras. One of them was Moses Baltazar who was attempting to clear up his own traffic ticket. He said he was no fan of Hilton, noting she once tipped him only a dollar when he worked as a valet, even though he helped keep paparazzi away from her.

He also said there was no excuse for her flouting the law. "Driving like that, you have to behave. If you're rich, you have money, you have to respect yourself," he said, adding he thinks she should be returned to jail.

Outside her home, however, supporters gathered and an airplane towing a "We Love Paris" banner flew overhead.

The frenzy began early Thursday when sheriff's officials released Hilton and sent her home under house arrest. She had been in jail since late Sunday - serving just three of the 45-day sentence while receiving credit for five days. Officials had said she was projected to serve just 23 days in jail.

Hilton was fitted with an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet and was expected to finish the full sentence for a reckless driving probation violation at her four-bedroom, three-bath home.

The decision by Sheriff Lee Baca to move Hilton chafed prosecutors and Sauer, who spelled out during sentencing that Hilton was not allowed to serve house detention.

50 Cent rich now , wants to emulate Eminem

31-year-old hip-hop artist , 50 Cent wants to emulate friend Eminem - whose lastLP 'Encore' was released in 2004 - and disappear from the rap scene for awhile, because it will make him a "bigger celebrity".

He said: "Eminem hasn't put out an album in years. It builds anticipationbecause he's away. And then the less common you appear, the bigger yourcelebrity. So then he isolates himself, and he becomes more popular. Peopleare more excited."

50 - real name Curtis Jackson - won't hang up his mic until after therelease of his next two albums, 'Curtis' in September and 'Before ISelf-Destruct' next February, which will be his last studio album withInterscope Records.

The rapper - whose current five-deal contract includes the release of hisgreatest hits CD - plans to make music "organically".

He added: "I'll make it organically, like Dr. Dre makes a record. It maytake five or seven years. They'll be looking for my record, like, 'Yo, comeon, when you making a record?' "
Last month, HipHopRX.com, reported that 50 Cent “Curtis Jackson” earned $400 million dollars after an announced buy of the company Glaceau/Engery Brands, Inc. by Coca-Cola.
50 Cent invested in Glacéau in 2004 and owns 10% of the company.

"Glacéau and its brands also provide us with highly attractive longer-term international opportunities. Michael Jackson takes his children to see "Bodies"

Michael Jackson and his three children, all unveiled, got the VIP tour of "Bodies The Exhibition" on Wednesday and went home with a miniature skeleton.

Jackson stopped at one point to lecture his children on the evils of smoking after they viewed a smoker's lung. Later, he stressed the importance of healthy eating.

After taking a tour of "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition," they stopped in the gift shop and purchased everything from a 33-inch skeleton to anatomy and pathology books to T-shirts featuring bones, brains and "a thinker."

Worlds WORST Mother @ it AGAIN!!!

Britney Spears was nailed again in unflattering photos splashed across newspapers and Internet Web sites this week from Mexico. The rear view shot of Britney was taken in a white-and-turquoise cover-up over a bikini that reveals her not-so-toned backside. Now more photos of Britney have emerged, and again she is in a bikini. But this time, the snappers were aimed at her son Jayden James.

Britney Spears has kept her youngest son Jayden James Federline under wraps as best as she can, but almost dropped him at one time. At times Britney has even covered the little boy with towels and blankets to keep him from being photographed by any snappers looking for a good photo shot of the little boy. There have been some photos already published but they were snapped with very long lenses. Now a break out photo is online of the little tyke.
***
Famous Chatter has one shot and promises more. They report: Paparazzi finally caught the single mother of two in Hawaii, carrying her up-til-now mysterious little formerly bundled-up bundle of joy, Jayden James. Britney spent some time alone in Mexico last week, and is continuing her R&R in Hawaii with the kids and cousin Alli. Lip-synching is exhaustin', ya know!
Britney may not have planned for this reveal, but it's clear that the Britster doesn't look too pleased after spotting a photog. It's also clear that Sean Preston's wedgie looks like it hurts. Ouch, y'all!

Something Stinks about Clay Aiken

There is something stinky about Clay Aiken: Apparently Aiken is one of those beloved passengers who thinks the first-class cabin is their living room. Aiken took off his shoes and socks during a recent flight between L.A. and his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina, according to the always trustworthy Star magazine. And then he made his assistant keep them in his lap! That man or is clearly underpaid.

Michael Jackson wants to rock with Eminem

Los Angeles, CA (BANG) - Michael Jackson wants to work with Eminem. Despite being mocked by the rapper in his "Just Lose It" music video three years ago, Michael would love to join forces with the controversial star.

He said: "The guy is a lyrical genius and I would love to work with him."
Michael was left angry after Eminem dressed in a "Thriller"-style outfit in the 2004 promo, and mocked the infamous accident when Michael's hair caught fire while filming
a Pepsi ad in 1984.

In another scene, Eminem is seen dressed as the "Billie Jean" singer in bed with young boys dancing around him. At the time, Michael, 48, was at the center of child abuse allegations. Despite being cleared of all charges in 2005, the singer's career nosedived and is yet to recover.
It was recently revealed Michael had acquired the rights to some of Eminem's biggest hits, after he purchased Famous Music LLC from Viacom.
